The Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court’s Office received two Best Practices Awards from the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials, and Clerks (NACRC), recognizing innovative technology solutions developed to improve public services.
The office earned the Election Administration Best Practices Award for creating a mobile app and JeffClerk Alerts system, enabling citizens to access election results on election night via smartphones and tablets. It also received the Court Administration/Clerk to Board Best Practices Award for the same suite of technologies, which improved interaction between the public, the legal community, and the clerk’s office.
The mobile applications — including the Elections Mobile App and Attorney’s Toolbox Mobile App — provided free tools for iPhones, Androids, BlackBerries, and iPads, featuring forms, fees, departmental contacts, locations, and interactive docket calendars for all court divisions.
NACRC President Jack Arrowsmith stated, “I congratulate this year’s winners for their innovation.” In September, Harvard University’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation also recognized these innovations as a “Bright Idea” for improving government services while reducing operational costs.
